The value of life is an intrinsic concept to RP. You must value your own life as if it were your last, ensuring you comply with demands when a weapon is presented to your Character. If your Character is at a clear disadvantage, you should comply with demands. There are some accepted exceptions to the NVL rule. These include (but are not limited to) In all scenarios, Players must remember that this is an RP server, and RP comes first, always.
As a Criminal, fleeing from a Police Officer brandishing a firearm, when you have good reason to believe they may not shoot you
As a Police Officer, engaging an individual with a hostage once sufficient negotiations have broken down
In a vehicle, driving away from a firearm that is being pointed at you
